What if an eviction notice or lien has already been filed for my debt?

What can be done when there's an eviction notice or lien on a property for a past-due balance

If an eviction notice or lien has already been filed for your debt, the agencies in our network cannot pursue the debt. They do not accept debts with eviction notices or liens on them as the odds of a successful collection are determined to be too low. If an eviction notice or lien doesn't make them pay, a collection agency's efforts won't be any more successful.

We recommend submitting debts to collections before taking legal action, as you can always escalate from collections to the legal route, but once you pursue legal action you cannot submit the debt to collections.

While CollBox won't be a great fit for this type of situation, if you have any other accounts that are past-due but that you haven't taken legal action on, give us a shout!
